When a timing belt breaks, it can throw the engine completely out of sync. This in turn causes the pistons and valves to hit, resulting in extensive engine damage. A stretch timing belt is just as dangerous, causing the belt teeth/cam gears to “skip” resulting in incorrect timing and reduced or failed engine performance.

The Tomei Engine Belts are made using premium grade materials with high resistance to heat, stretch and engine fluids, which significantly increase the longevity of these belts. The belt teeth are made using a specially formulated fiber-infused rubber compound and a wear-resistant low friction cover fabric. These materials are an upgrade over traditional OEM counterparts, increasing belt longevity whilst also reducing operating noise. Strong glass fiber cords of high tensile strength are used to reinforce the belt, helping to minimize belt stretch even under high/heavy loads. The low-friction, crack resistant blue top layer also helps prolong the life span of the belt.
